STATUS QUO PATTERN
Building Use

Back
This axonometric view illustrates the Status Quo Pattern study site essentially as it exists today.  This pattern accomodates less than  1/3 of the families acommodated by the Traditional Pattern; large lots and and the limitation of one dwelling unit per building, as indicated by shading provide the reasons why.  There are a total of 30 dwelling units on the study site which averages to 1000 dwelling units per kilometre (4 d.u./acre) of Status Quo Pattern development.  Alleys are atypical of the Status Quo Pattern, and neighbourhoods are frequently fenced  preventing the formation of a complete walking and biking system.
