168A Street looking South:
32m (105') total distance building front to building front
16.5m (54') right-of-way.

This view of 168A Street one of three Status Quo Pattern street types.  This is an example of a cul-de-sac.  Note the width of the paved way, which is comparable to pavement widths in the Traditional Pattern.  The right of way here is a relatively narrow 16.5 metres (54').  Cul-de-sac streets in Surrey are already significantly narrower than those in many other North American suburban communities; however, the lack of sidewalks, parked cars, and street trees increases the apparent width of the street.  Parking is allowed on both sides of the street but, as this view demonstrates, is often not intensively utilized.  Note also the lack of above ground joint utility poles.  All utility services are delivered underground on this type of street.
