HOUSING

Example 4
Greater density does not sacrifice open spce and circulation. Team One oriented meium-density row houses around central working greens which are connected to a larger system of green links via pedestrian paths. Each housing unit has a small front and rear yard. Example 5
Team One uses the finer grained block as a structure for organizing housing and community open space. This plan shows how the grid allows each housing unit to be within close range of a working open space. Each one of these spaces would be organized and used according to the needs of the neighbouhood and could include gardening, smalle;scale agricluture, and recreation. Example 6
Team One’s perspective shows the relationship between mixed-use commercial/residential buildings and the community open spaces that they face onto. Higher densities of housing along commercial streets are connected to these central open spaces via pedestrian alleys. Civic buildings are seen in the distance.
