Aerial
view of the site as it might appear 30 years from now. The Lougheed
corridor is lined with “chunks” of at-grade commercial uses topped
with high-density housing units (1). Civic buildings, urban open
space, and light rail transit create a dynamic town centre. Multiple
housing types, including four-storey apartments (2) and ground-oriented
row houses (3), are situated around community working greens (4).
Surface water is collected and recycled via rooftop cisterns (5),
orchards and swales. A commuter bikepath and walking trails (6)
travel along Still Creek (7). The riparian corridor acts as a
buffer to the stream between the town centre and the Trans-Canada
Highway (8), and provides wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities.
