Example
5
A
perspective view of Team Two’s transit stop, with the central
energy plant in the background. The sketch depicts the human
scale of the train, which, at an approximate height of 8.5 feet,
allows a comfortable distance between pedestrians and the right-of-way.
The integration of the train within the right-of-way effectively
blends the multiple functions of the street into an integrated
whole.

Example 6
Team
Three proposed that the transit line be aligned along the south
side of Lougheed Highway. Here, the right-of-way is enveloped
with trees and other human-scaled furnishings to create a safe
and comfortable environment for the pedestrian. The individually
varied treatments of the facades of commercial buildings along
the street contribute to a visually complex and interesting
streetscape. Train passengers are dropped at the south curb.
A pedestrian bridge (seen to the east, in the distance) allows
safe and easy crossings to the north side of Lougheed Highway.
